Spent a couple hours sanding down the ribs. Sanding sanding sanding...
Got one in pretty good shape? A light water test shows some pink, but not ridiculous amounts of it.
I might try sanding some previously-finished scrap to the same point, and see if I can't further de-redden things with selectively applied, diluted green dye.
That's a ways down the road. Still lots, lots, lots more sanding to do... but that's enough for today.
